Why is My Miele Refrigerator Beeping?

Apr 18, 2026

A Quick Guide to Error Codes

If you live in Beverly Hills, Encino, West LA, or across the San Fernando Valley,  there’s a good chance you have a Miele in your kitchen. They are incredible machines, but let’s be honest: when they start beeping at 2 AM or flashing a weird code, they can be a bit of a headache.

At IP Tech Appliance Repair, we see these units every day. Before you panic about your groceries spoiling, let’s walk through what your Miele is trying to tell you and whether you can fix it yourself or if you need to give us a call.

Decoding Those Miele Error Codes

The "Sensor Issues" (F0, F1, F2)
These are the most common calls we get. The sensors (thermistors) are the eyes of the fridge.

The Problem: If a sensor fails, the fridge doesn't know if it’s 34°F or 50°F.
The Reality: You can’t really "DIY" this one. These sensors are often tucked deep behind panels, and replacing them requires a steady hand so you don’t damage the interior.

The "Water Problems" (F10, F13, F14)
If you’re not getting ice for your drinks, look for these.

F10/F13: Usually means "No Water." Check if your shut-off valve is open or if your filter is so clogged that water can’t get through.
Pro Tip: If you haven’t changed your filter in over a year, start there. It’s the cheapest fix!

The "Communication Error" (F4, F5)
This is essentially your fridge’s "Blue Screen of Death."

The Meaning: The main control board and the display aren't talking to each other.
What to do: If a reset doesn't work, the board might have fried. This is common after a heavy storm or a local power surge in the Valley.

Miele’s diagnostic system is vast. If you see a code like F3, F32, or F91, or if your screen is simply showing a wrench icon, it’s a sign the internal computer has detected a mechanical failure. In these cases, it’s best to avoid 'guessing' and have a certified technician run a full diagnostic.
